Holy bajeezus, this weekend was absolute madness! Far from being Sparta, the madness was originating from Anaheim, California, where Blizzard was doing their annual showcase event they call BlizzCon. I'm sad to say that I didn't go, I didn't have the money to switch to DirecTV, and I kept putting off getting the Live Streaming feed for too long. I did, however, follow Twitter like a madman watching about 3-4 of my followers pumping out news from the show floor like nothing I'd ever seen. This is how I found out that this year, some stuff happened. A lot of stuff happened. I'm going to relay whatever I can remember from it.
Read on after the link to see my overly extensive thoughts on... Well, mostly the new WoW Expansion: Cataclysm.

2 WoW posts in a row. It's bound to happen what with the announcement of the next expansion right around the corner. I really, really didn't want to have to write this. I didn't. I really want to wait 'till Blizzcon. But now I don't have a choice, do I? If it was only the Goblins and Worgen, I'd let it go. But MMO Champion just let leak TONS of dirt on Cataclysm. All their information obtained from "reliable sources". That translates into "Don't trust them as far as you could throw them" in my mental book. Don't read on if you don't want "spoilers", though I don't know if they even really count as spoilers or not. If you can handle it, hit the link.

First things first, you can find my latest reviews, Wii Sports Resort, and Taking of Pelham 123, through their respective links.
Now to the real topic of today's post. I refrained from posting this way back when the masks were found buried in the patch files because, hey, it's just Halloween masks, could be anything, right? Well, WoW Insider claims that an Inside Souce tells them the new races are confirmed to be Worgen and Goblins. Can't say I didn't see this coming, what with the masks, but it's still pretty big. Keep in mind, everything from here on out is in both hopes that this is true, and pure speculation. My thoughts are found after the link.

Well, I'm at a loss. I went last week without a blog post and only one review. I don't think I've had a week with 2 reviews in months. I miss having multiple people on my team. As far as I can expect, we'll be getting a whole heckuva lot of those "1 review a week" weeks. And a hopefully not too many weeks like this one. This week is one of those weeks that I absolutely hate to live through. This is one of those weeks where I sit here and try to drag out the subject as long as I can to get you to keep reading. This is one of those weeks where I don't have a single gorramed review. I haven't seen any movies (I haven't already reviewed) or played any games (I haven't already reviewed). I did see "Iron Man" again, and I played the crap out of "Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots", but both of those have been reviewed by me. I ain't putting out a new game review 'til "Batman: Arkham Asylum" hits, and even then I don't know how long it'll take before I can write an adequate review. I really hope that I can pump out a review of "Taking of Pelham 123" for next week, but I can't guarantee that. I've also decided to reveal why it is that I've been neglecting the site so. Read on to see why...

It's a little odd for me to be posting in the middle of the week, but I'm doing it anyway, for some important news has surfaced. But I'm just going to fill everyone in that doesn't follow me on Twitter. I changed my update schedule to Thursdays, not Tuesdays. Tuesday was just getting inconvenient for me, since Mondays suck so much, I feel drained from the hate of the day, thus I don't want to do work on Tuesdays. That's right, I'm changing the schedule due to my own laziness. It's my site, so I'm allowed, right? Besides, few people update on Thursdays, so this is just another thing to keep you busy. But on to a more serious topic...
So, about a month and a half back, news broke that Futurama was coming back. I was excited, but judgmental. Sure, it was coming back, but there's a catch. There's always a catch. It's not going to be the original Futurama in some way or another, but how? This question has been answered. Thank you, FOX, for royally {EXPLETIVE}ing up this classic series yet again.

Yes, the title doesn't lie. I have nothing to rant about this week. My ranting brain was exhausted in my last WoW post, which wasn't too terribly ranty. How odd...
OH! Yeah, I have a new review up in the Movies section, "Public Enemies". It was a good movie, so go ahead and read the review. I got an email recently bashing me on how my reviews are far too negative and how I never seem to enjoy a movie, as though I expect everything to be an Emmy winner. This touched me in a bad way- wait. That came out wrong. Let me rephrase that. This commentary on my reviewing hurt me, psychologically. I took this to heart. This latest review is fairly optimistic, in my opinion, but not just because of this comment, also because this movie was genuinely good.

Don't ask what Turtle Rum is, nor how one would get their hands on some that old, notice it's acronym. PTR. It's very similar to the topic of today's post! In fact, it is the acronym of today's topic! I don't know about anyone else, but as far as Blizzard Entertainment is concerned, PRT stands for one thing, and one thing only: the Public Test Realm(s).
The PTRs are a way of the public testing out the next patch ahead of time, reporting bugs, commenting on the new stuff, providing input on how to better the patch/game, but mostly just letting us play with the new stuff early. I don't generally go on the PTRs, but for the latest patch (circa 2009, July 11), Patch 3.2: Call of the Crusade, I made an exception. Continue reading for my thoughts on most of the important stuff coming out of Patch 3.2.

As many of you noticed recently, my compatriot who has helped me out countless times with this website has left us. Well, he's still around, but he's not contributing to the website anymore. He unofficially left the site a month or two ago, but he figured he'd tell you all formally. It was a sad day, that one. But the troubles on the homefront pale in comparison to the troubles across the globe.
The nation I happen to reside in, the United States of America, happens to revolve around the lives of celebrities. We worship them like gods, or make fun of them when they screw up. I prefer to think I don't, but I still make fun of them. I don't hang on Paris Hilton's every word for how to dress (mostly because I am a male, and straight at that, but you get my point), or sit in my chair eagerly awaiting news on Madonna's latest child and what it'll be named, but I do make fun of them when they screw up. Out of all the celebrities that screwed up, Michael Jackson was one of the worst.

A Sad Day Indeed...
Ethan (Slipstream) — Jun 26, 2009 21:46:05
Hey, Everyone. Slipstream here with a bit of bad news. I regret to inform you that, for personal reasons, I shall no longer be a part of this wonderful site. Due to work, school, and college preparation, I just don't have the time for games and movies that I once did. I just wanted to say, I hope my reviews were helpful and fun, and that I sure had fun doing them. So, for the last time, Slipstream Out.

Back in my day, we had to level up to level 40 to get a 60% speed increase, and it cost us 100 gold! Then, we had to get to level 60 to get a double speed increase! And they took up our bag space too! And flying was a relief! Something to look forward to while leveling up to 70. These newbies get off so easy nowadays, what with their mount spellbook, and their level 30 mounts. Get off my lawn, durn kids.
Wait, what's this? Another mount "nerf"? Do the young whippersnappers get off easy again? They do?! What did the almighty gods of Blizzard do this time? Hello? What did Blizzard do? Oh, it's all after the link. Hit the link! I wanna see what they did!
